However, a bath that is too hot will weaken your body, partly due to the immense amount of work that your body will go through to maintain balance with regards to your core temperature, blood pressure, fluid levels etc. This process of balance is known as homeostasis.
Of particular concern should be anyone who falls into any of the following categories:
- heart problems
- general circulation issues
- high blood pressure
- low blood pressure
- overweight individuals
Typical symptoms that can indicate a problem include:
- light headedness
- nose bleeds
- shortness of breath
- pounding chest
When you are in a hot bath your blood pressure drops, which is aided by the fact that you are horizontal, so that the gravitational effect of pumping blood up and down your body is diminished.
The fluctuation in the level of your blood pressure that occurs whilst in the bath and getting up to leave the bath, contributes to the problems that can be experienced when the water is too hot.
If you are familiar with any of the above symptoms, seek advice from your health practitioner.
Gentlemen...hot baths are not particularly good for sperm production or fertility, something you might want to bear in mind.
